Kathy Traeger is a full time visual artist residing in Surrey, BC who works primarily in acrylics.
She graduated in 1985 with a diploma in Visual Art and Design and spent the next 32 years working for various design studios, advertising agencies, printing facilities in both Canada and the USA. In 2017 Traeger followed her true passion and transitioned to full time visual artist.
Kathy Traeger has achieved signature status with the Federation of Canadian Artists (SFCA) and the International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP). She is also an elected member with the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA).
Traeger doesn’t lean towards traditional landscapes or subject matter. She loves to bring a hyper realist style into her work. Inspiration is pulled from urban landscapes, old buildings, weathered signage, anything that is iconic, eclectic or rusty. There are stories in all of these forgotten treasures just waiting to be unleashed in a painting.
Her paintings are held in private and corporate collections across North America and Asia.
