Biography
Born in 1975, Ann Murphy has been creating since she was a child. Throughout her career as a self-taught artist, she has found interest in a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, carpentry and sculpture. At the age of 25, Murphy completed a degree in interior design, to round out her artistic skill set. Ann has participated in the Montreal Crafts Fair as well as many other art shows across Quebec. She has also participated in several exhibitions in Canadian and American galleries.
Today, as the mother of two boys, she divides her time between her workshop and her home. The proximity of her creative space to her home allows her to coordinate work and family. Whether she’s creating a new collection of giclées, crafting giant paper mache sculptures or creating unique paintings, Ann Murphy navigates from one project to the next and is full of ideas. The artist works confidently, following her own inspirations. She knows that her best work is yet to come and based on her abundant current portfolio, she will surely be producing some incredible pieces in the coming years.
